The 2025 Harley-Davidson® Heritage Classic combines classic cruiser styling with contemporary engineering refinements. Designed to deliver reliable performance with updated features, this model supports both everyday riding and longer trips through a balance of power, design, and technology.

Engine and Performance Characteristics

The 2025 Harley-Davidson® Heritage Classic is equipped with the Milwaukee-Eight® 117 Classic V-twin engine, which has a displacement of 117 cubic inches. This engine produces 98 horsepower and 120 foot-pounds of torque. The tuning focuses on delivering torque in the lower RPM range, which supports effective acceleration and passing power without requiring high revs.

The engine uses dual counter-balancers to reduce vibrations at idle. This technology maintains some engine feel at higher speeds while enhancing overall rider comfort by minimizing unwanted shaking. The engine is rigidly mounted to the motorcycle’s frame to increase chassis stiffness.

The intake system features a classic shape, maintaining the traditional cruiser appearance. However, the air filter has been updated to maximize airflow and performance. Exhaust gases exit through a two-into-two exhaust system.

Structural Design and Aesthetic Details

The 2025 Harley-Davidson® Heritage Classic maintains traditional cruiser styling with a focus on functionality. The fuel tank has a rounded design with a nostalgic medallion that reflects heritage of Harley-Davidson®. The motorcycle is available in multiple paint options including Billiard Gray, Vivid Black, White Onyx Pearl, Iron Horse Metallic, and a two-tone Whiskey Fire/Vivid Black. These colors complement the bike’s shape and classic design elements.

Saddlebags are constructed with hard frames and are weatherproof. The outer layer features leather with blackened-nickel studs that combine durability with vintage styling. The bags provide keyed locks and top-loading access, which offers security and convenience for storage during rides.

Wheels come in two styles. The standard cast wheels offer a modern touch, while optional 16-inch laced wheels provide a look reminiscent of older Harley-Davidson® models. These laced wheels use tubeless tires, reducing maintenance requirements compared to traditional tube-type tires.

The motorcycle is equipped with LED lighting across all functions. The headlight provides bright white illumination, supplemented by auxiliary lights. Turn signals and brake lights also utilize LED technology for enhanced visibility and reliability.

Suspension and Handling Features

The rear suspension system uses an updated monoshock located under the seat. This suspension unit includes a preload adjustment feature, which allows the rider to quickly adapt to additional loads such as a passenger or fully packed saddlebags. Adjusting the preload ensures the motorcycle maintains consistent handling characteristics regardless of load changes.

The combination of the rigidly mounted engine and the dual counter-balancers contributes to a more stable chassis. The frame and suspension setup support confident cornering and steady cruising, adapting well to different riding environments.

Integrated Technology and Rider Controls

The 2025 Harley-Davidson® Heritage Classic integrates technology designed to support the rider without detracting from the motorcycle’s traditional appearance. The instrument cluster consists of a five-inch analog gauge paired with a digital display. This setup allows riders to view information clearly and switch between multiple Ride Modes. Available modes include Road, Rain, and Sport, each adjusting the motorcycle’s performance characteristics to suit varying road and weather conditions.

Hand controls have been updated to incorporate new features such as traction control, cruise control, and Ride Mode selection.

The motorcycle includes an adjustable brake lever. This lever can be moved closer or further from the handlebar using a quick-adjust knob, allowing riders to customize lever reach according to their hand size and preference.

For device connectivity, a USB-C charging port is provided. This allows riders to keep their mobile devices powered during longer trips, supporting functions such as navigation, music streaming, and communication through Bluetooth® headsets.

Safety Systems and Rider Assistance

The 2025 Harley-Davidson® Heritage Classic incorporates Rider Safety Enhancements, a set of electronic systems designed to support rider control in various scenarios. The safety features are designed to operate seamlessly and automatically, helping maintain stability and traction.

The Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) prevents wheel lock-up during braking. It assists the rider in maintaining control during emergency or hard braking situations.

The Traction Control System (TCS) works to prevent the rear wheel from spinning excessively when accelerating on low-grip surfaces. This system improves rider confidence by maintaining traction.

The Drag-Torque Slip Control System (DSCS) reduces rear-wheel slip or lock-up during rapid deceleration, such as abrupt downshifts or quick throttle reductions. This is particularly beneficial on slippery or wet roads.

Advanced cornering safety features are supported by an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). These include Cornering Enhanced ABS (C-ABS), Cornering Enhanced Traction Control (C-TCS), and Cornering Drag-Torque Slip Control System (C-DSCS). These systems adjust braking and traction control based on the motorcycle’s lean angle, providing better control and stability while cornering.

Additionally, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) alerts the rider to changes in tire pressure. Maintaining proper tire inflation is critical for performance and safety.
